About the position

As an AI research engineer, you are the expert in AI domains such as machine/deep learning & optimization. You develop the control software for the next generation of autonomous robotics and swarms of intelligent drones.

Key responsibilities

  • Design the next generation algorithms to improve robotic decision making, trajectory optimization and world mapping
  • Use machine/deep learning algorithms to build up world models of the environment around the robots
  • Translate the practical control/navigation/mapping problems into optimization problems with concrete objectives and constraints; Solving these optimization problems by choosing the optimal solvers
  • Convert the developed algorithms into embedded software
  • Test, evaluate and retest the developed algorithms extensively on real robots for a wide range of scenarios
  • Work closely with the research team and project manager
  • Take ownership of research projects and reporting

Experience & skills we are looking for

  • A Master of Science or PhD in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Math or Physics
  • Industrial and/or academic expertise in defining and solving optimisation problems;
  • Machine learning (CNN, RNN, LSTM, Transformers, VAE, DRL), algorithmic foundations of multi-agent optimization, advanced statistics and artificial intelligence (AI) in general, are your second nature
  • Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python and/or C/C++.
  • Familiar with Linux OS

About the position

As a business developer you will play a key role in the acquisition of new funded and B2B projects. You identify new business opportunities (tenders, Flemish/European project calls, new clients) for the autonomous systems and software developed at dotOcean. You prepare all technical, financial and commercial content for a winning project proposal aligned with an agreed strategy.

Key responsibilities as a Business Developer at dotOcean

  • Take part in the acquisition process of dotOcean projects
  • Play a key role in the preparation and submission of tender proposals to our clients
  • Analyse tender documentation received from potential clients and work on method selection, cost calculations and risk assessments
  • Program the works together with our project manager
  • Liaise with subcontractors, partners and supporting departments
  • Work together with research organizations to submit successful project proposals for Flemish and European funded call
  • Reporting for internal and external approval purposes

Experience & skills we are looking for

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Economics and/or Engineering

About the position

As our DevOps and SRE you will create the automated environment to support our rapidly expanding edge, fog and cloud systems to support our distributed automation and swarming technology. You love measuring the process and reporting it. You believe that systems operation is a software problem. You are either a software engineer with a good IT administration background or a highly skilled system administrator with knowledge of coding and automation. You will spend maximum 50% of your time on ‘ops’ related work (and try lowering that with automation) and >50% on developing the next level of automation, self-healing and scaling infrastructure.
